The base of the sole is made of non-slip rubber. The insole is lined with cowhide for comfort. The leather and sole are hand-stitched together with cotton thread. The toe cap and heel cup are open.

Faithful to the origin of this product, we continue to handcraft our emblematic espadrilles in Spain, thus paying tribute to a product with a designation of origin. The manufacturing process of Toni Pons espadrilles has similarities with the original, such as the hand-stitching of the jute sole with the upper.

The oldest documented footwear in Europe was found on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. They were esparto sandals dating back over 6,000 years. These sandals evolved into what we now know as espadrilles, a product that has been deeply intertwined with our culture and has a designation of origin.
